Questions:: First, thank you for making such a useful web site free of charge!
Secondly, I have been given a plant and I don't know what it is. I was told that it is a parrot plant but it looks nothing like that listed on
your site. It has small red and yellow flowers that look like parrots!
The leaves are dark green and quite long and drooping. I would be grateful for any suggestions. THANK YOU!!
Jackie, we hate to be defeated by a question, but I think you have us stumped. Does the plant come from a bulb, with a long stalk that has a few flowers at the top? Look at the picture of Phaedranassa on the site; some species of that genus have red flowers with green tips. Look also at Manettia and at Cuphea ignea, although neither one has the leaves which you describe. Also try Gloriosa.
Could you give a few more clues - or can anyone help, please!!

Thanks for your message but my plant doesn't seem to be any of those listed in your email. I do know that it isn't grown from a bulb, my plant is a cutting. I doesn't seem to be very happy at the moment and I'm not sure how best to help it.
