I have one of these plants - my question is

The plant is in a small pot - that it originally came in and the roots are growing out of the pot - Can I re-pot this plant or should I leave it the way it is? Also, It has bloomed 2 times already, can I cut the old stalks down or do I leave them alone also. Please let me know. Thank you. Lynn
