My large house plants, (schefflera) are not doing too well..the leaves are continuously dropping off. Am I watering too much or not enough?

You didn't say how much or little your watering, or the light it's kept in. The Schefflera likes bright light with some direct sun if possible. If the soil feels wet, you may have overwatered, check root for signs of rot. It's best to water thoroughly then let the soil dry before watering again. Enpty any excess water from tray after watering as well. I water mine every 2 weeks with no harm. You might want check for any pest like the spidermite too.

One of our members just donated a Schefflerra to our senior center. It looks pretty healthy now. It has four trunks about 1 - 1 1/2 inched in diameter. The trunks are about six feet tall. It's in a ceramic pot sixtten inches in diameter and 12 inches high. It definitely looks potbound, but then I know nothing about Schefflerras.
It's in our lobby which gets lots of indirect light from windows and skylights.
I could use all the help you can give me because, as I said, I know nothing about the care and feeding of this lovely plants. The folks who donated it just said water weekly and if it gets too talk just whack of the trunk.
HELP!

Many thanks in advance
