I just have a question about training lucky or curly bambo to grow. I bought two plants this summer, and once they grew roots i planted them. Now one of the plants is growing a bud from one of the roots. Once it becomes big enough i would like to transplant the new one. I would just like to know how to train the bambo to curl like the ones I already have. Would I just use sticks or strings, or is there a website that would show me this. Thank you Alycia

Alycia, when I got my lucky bamboo, I was told to grow it in water; changing the water weekly. I have one in water and one in soil. both are growing fine. the new shoot can be cut off of the other plant with a sharp knife. as for training it to curl, I have been turning mine gradually in the same direction about once every three or four days. this causes the growth to keep "reaching" for the sunlihgt, thus causing it to curve or curl. no sticks, strings, tricks or magic! Have fun! carol

I would like to get some Bambo from my nieghbors garden and plant it in mine. Do I have to do any more than just cut a green stalk and put in water untill it gets roots?
