Hello there,
For several years now I have been succesfully growing what my mother calls "Pencil Plants" from a cutting she gave me. They make excellent urban houseplants, requiring similar care to a Crassula, or jade plant, according to Mom. They respond well to living outdoors in warm weather and tolerate a dry winter indoors if watered weekly only. Mine have delicate green leafless branches which reach for the sky, until they droop gracefully, which appears to be a natural habit. I like mine staked artfully like orchids. I have seen giant "pencils" in the flower district here in New York.
I have never read anything about them and would like to know more about care, correct identification, origins, flowering ability, and sources if you can recommend any.
I would greatly appreciate any input, Thanks! -Marshall
