A neighbor of mine gave me a plant she brought back from the Philippines. It was just a stalk with a large succulent flat leaf. The plant is now growing what I believe to be more leaves from the stalk and a growth (flower ?) is coming from an indent in the main mature leaf. I asked her what the plant was called because I wanted to find out more about it. She said she didn't know the scientific name for it but that they always called it "Blooming (k)night".

The main leaf is about 1.5 feet long with indents every two or three inches. The new growth has red tips and have not fully grown into what they will be.

Does anybody have any idea what this plant might be?
