Looking for information regarding the care of a Birds of Paradise. I just love the look of them, so I planted one last year, probably not at the right time. I don't have much of a green thumb but I try. I did not cover it through the winter months; however, I live in Texas it doesn't get all that cold really. I was told with my Banana tree after it was all brown and dead looking to just cut it off level with the ground and they grow back year after year. But I'm not sure if I should do the same with the Birds of Paradise. It is a medium sized plant with approximately 8 palms all of which are brown and there is a new sprout coming up the middle. I was always told to cut off the dead leaves so the plant does not try to heal those that are already gone, but I don't want to ruin this beautiful plant. How should I proceed to get it back to health?
Thanks Rachele
