Hello i have a peace lilly, it was gave to me a couple weeks ago, the leaves on the bottom are starting to turn yellow. Why is this? The plant is on my front porch and it is in the shade, does it need more sun? Thank you belinda.

Belinda,

Peace Lilys will not tolerate direct sun.
If the leaves are turning completely yellow is probably over watering. If the edges are a bit crispy then it is probably underwatered.
My Peace Lilys leaves do tend to yellow sometimes no matter what I do, along with new growth. Just trim the yellow off, to keep them looking nice.

My sister passed away recently, I received a large peace lily, and a smaller one. The large one I HAD IN MY LIVING ROOM. I noticed several of the leaves have turned yellow, but I have some of the flowers, and they look good. If I am told to cut them, how much do I CUT back, & will they come back again. How often should they be watered. I Rceived them on Nov 13th.Will look forward too your answer. Mary
