I GOT 3 AFRICAN VIOLETS FROM MY GRANDMOTHER AND SHE SAID SHE COULD NEVER GET THEM TO FLOWER AND NOW I CAN NOT EITHER. WHAT CAN I DO, WILL THEY EVER BLOOM?

Try giving them brighter indirect light and an feed a blooming food with a high middle number such as African violet food in a diluted strength, to much food might only produce lots of leaves. The roots like to be on the potbound side before producing any good blooms, so make sure the pots are not oversized. Newly repotted plants can sometimes delay blooming time until the roots have settled back in. Water well until it comes out the bottom then empty tray so it's not standing in it, or bottom water just long enough for the top to feel moist. Let the soil get close to drying before watering them again. Susan

I agree totally with the light recommendation except that sometimes my violets do better in direct sun. I have one in a west exposure with no shade and it blooms profusely. As soon as summer comes and my tree out front shades the window where I keep the rest of my plants, they quit blooming. Also, I feed them African violet food diluted to half of what the plant food container recommends once a month.
