I have been trying to get information on the care of a Bromiliad plant. I understand that there are many plants that carry this name. Is there any information I can get even though I don't know the variety of the plant that I have?

Thanks,

Any way you can e-mail a photo? There are so many varieties. Are you trying to keep it indoors? If so you may want to get at least two so you can swap them. They do not do well indefinetly, indoors. Outdoors they are extremely hardy for the most part depending on the variety and location. I can help or point you in the right direction if you can send a picture. Carol

I have a beautiful Brmiliad whose outer leaves are turning brown in a circular pattern and along the edges. Can I cut the dead parts off without harming the plant?

Please see the Bromeliad Society's website at bsi.org. They have information on reblooming, fertilizing, lighting, soil type, etc. Everything you want to know would probably be on their FAQ page.
