While in rehab, my dad planted a plant that grew one stalk with green leaves. It loved the sunlight. When taken out of the sun the leaves curl under and droop. The buds form at the edges of the leaves and drop in the pot. The plant just kept getting taller and taller. Unfortunately we tried to cut it and lost the plant. From my description is there anyway you can tell me what the name of the plant is?

You didn't say if this was indoor or outdoor plant but, If this is a houseplant your talking about and if the "Buds" your talking about that grew at the edge of the leaves are really small plantlets that dropped into the pot where they would root, it sounds like maybe a Kalanchoe.
