Sounds like spidermites. Holding the plant at a tilt over a sink, spray the whole plant, including the undersides of the leaves and between the axils with either one part rubbing alcohol to nine parts water, or mix a mild dish washing detergent and water solution.Do this every week for a couple weeks to get rid of them. Spidermites like a dry atmosphere, can come from other plants or from your clothes that have come in contact with an infected plant, so when watering, water down the leaves as well to keep them in control. This treatment also works on mealy bugs which look like small pieces of cotton. A real bad infestation of either might not make it or would take more time.
