Taking your last question first - do you know something that we don't ???? We are on shaky round financially, and do have technical problems, but we are trying to hang on.

Now, the water: I can't answer that because I don't know the size of pot, how much the roots fill the pot, light and temperature conditions, whether the plant is growing strongly and so on. But without knowing any of these, I can tell you that you should give enough at each watering to make the whole soil ball uniformly damp (every cubic millimeter of it without exception), and that you should not then give any more until the top inch or so is getting dry, whenyou repeat the soaking process.
A question back to you - what is flavored water? Lemonade? Coke? Iced tea? In any case the plant probably will not notice any difference in a short period.
How much growth? Depends on the light, the temperature, the vigor of the plant and so on. Perhaps an inch or two at this time of year inside the house, perhaps less.
See you on January 21, I hope. Derek
