HI. I Have stuck a sweet potato in a glass jar and it is now about a foot tall. green leaves. what do i need to do next. do i put it in soil and how long will it live? thanks sue.

It can stay in water if you have it in a pretty jar and want to see the roots - or equally well be moved to soil. It will live on the food stored in the potato for several months and you can also feed with very dilute fertilizer. It will grow to several feet long. derek

Iam growing a red potato plant for a science fair project. I was just wondering how often and how much should I water it? About how long should it take to grow? Thanks in advance!
