I have an aloe vera plant that I would like to break off a leaf and replant it. What process do I need to follow in order for it to grow?

Kim My aunt has TONS of aloe plants and all she does is split it at the root and plant it in dirt! Grows like crazy unless you over water. You can do this any day of the year. Good Luck, Kim

I have aloe and have had them for many years.
I have never heard of planting a leaf from aloe. The purpose of the plant is to break its leaves off and use it for antibiotic purposes.
The only way to start a new aloe is to take babies from the parent plant once they have sprouted up the soil from the parent plants root system. Thats how I have done it.
Best of Luck!
