Last year I purchased some roses, one was called a "Jumbo Rose" and the other was a climbing, both plant had red blooms. After the winter I bought some new roses and they were already showing signs of growth, where as my year old roses have no signs of growth at all. Still there is no growh on my two roses from last year and it's late May! Does anyone have any reasons of why this is. Are they died or still in hibernation?Does the growth onlystart from the ground up?
Another thing is that I heard that using a certain brand of bath salts, helps roses grow, is this true?

If anyone has any infromation, it will been appreciated!

Thanks

I do not know the area where you are located but here in Texas the roses begin to leaf out about March. The leaves form on the existing canes. During the growing season the canes will grow and flower.

I believe the salts you are referring to is "Epsom Salts". You can find bags in garden centers or pharmacy. Epsom salts is used as a fertilizer in the garden, usually applied in early spring.
