I just planted a few azalea's recently and within 2 weeks they began to lose their flowers and began wilting. I live on Long Island, NY and we have had alot of rain recently.. Not sure if it was how I planted them but it appears they went into shock. Any ideas on how turn these plants around before I lose them?
Thank You

I'm not an expert on Azalea's, (have one) but maybe yours may have simply dried out. If you plant azaleas in late spring, it is important to give them extra water while they are growing new roots. Never let the soil completely dry out. It's best to keep the soil evenly moist. Too much water, or poor draining soil might be another explanation for wilt or sudden azalea death. Azaleas have very fine roots that are easily damaged by water logged soil, even for short periods of time. Before you plant Azalea's a hole should be dug and filled with water. If the water has not drained out of the hole within one hour, the soil is poorly drained and needs to be corrected before you plant.
