how do you prune a spiarea? and at what time of the year?

I have this beautiful shrub-tree in the middle of my lawn and i would love to know what it is .I has long droopy branches and gets beautiful white apple blossem like flowers on it. Could u please send me a pic of a spiarea tree( shrub)
