I looked up the photo & description of a snake plant. It said it does not flower, but my plant has about 5 flowers starting on it which is very surprising since I have had the plant for over 10 years & it has never had any flowers & I thought never would. A new species?

Frances, the problem lies with our separation into two groups which should have been called "grown for their flowers" (=flowering) or grown for other characters (= non-flowering). All plants flower, but no one grows snake plants for their flowers. However, when they do develop they are really wonderful and you will love the fragrance. Derek
