my house plant died and when i threw it away i noticed it was infested with worms, they were thin and grey/tan, about one half inch in length, can you tell me what type they were and how they may have gotten in my plant?

Your plant might have been infested with centipedes or possibly millipededs. Any kind of pest/worms in the soil could have come from the nursery where it origionally came from, or, if the plant was outside in which these critters could have came up through the drainafge hole.
