never used fertilizer on mine but you could try general purpose one. mine gets watered 1 to 2 times a week.

Hi Philomena: I reference to watering your money plant and also fertilizing it, here is some information from the care instructions that came with my plant.

Watering:
It is best to keep the soil evenly moist or to allow it to dry only partially when the money tree is actively growing. During cooler winter temperatures, when growth slows down or stops, it is best to allow the soil to approach dryness before thoroughly watering again. Never allow the soil to remain soggy or waterlogged. Be sure to empty out any water that collects in the decorative container so the grow pot does not sit in water.

Fertilizing:
Apply a general house plant food at half recommended strength every two weeks from March to August. Fertilize only when the soil is moist.

I have a Money Tree and I am unsure if the tree and plant are the same thing.

Hello, I have the same problem. I have been a bit lazy, in fact, I think I shouldn't leave the plant outside. Especially in the rain, even if it has good holes in the bottom of the vase?
