I purchase a lot of my plants from Target and they don't give a name most of the time. I have three indoor house plant books and I can't find some of them in any of the three. If I know what I'm dealing with I could look it up. I can send pictures for some help and I will sign in as a new member when I am finished sending this email. I do want your book and I need help on shaping or cutting back. I used to be an "over waterer" but have learned my lesson. My mother-in-law raises the greatest african violets. She puts pebbles in the bottom or a low pot and keeps that filled with water. I have all of my plants in one room which has great indirect lighting and they all seem to thrive. I just don't know how to trim, replant and what type of food. I can send you pictures and maybe you'll be able to help me out. I have one beautiful plant that is growing like a weed and my something lillies, does quite well. Now, I'm getting ready to make the whole room into an indoor garden and some of my plants don't seem to like the idea as they were doing very well and now, some are droping leaves and I think that some of them have to have the moss with the plastic wrap around them to make new plants. Kelly, you can certainly send me pictures (derek@horticulturist.com) and I should be able to give you names so that you can use your books. But please also make a fuss at Target and insist that they give you names on what they sell - they can make their suppliers give proper labels if enough people insist.
Your plant room idea sounds great. derek
