I purchaesd 2 sedum plants known as black emporer this past spring. They grew to be very beautiful plants however I find them to be tall and fall over. How do I prevent this from happening? Is there special care needed for this paticular plant? I prefer that it didn't fall over so much.

Please help me!

Some flowering plants like daises, sedum and a few others can need staking when they get big. Either you can use something like a tomato cage, or some Y shaped med width size branches that are just about as tall as the plants are. The branches wouldn't show as much as wire.

In regards to the question about the black sedums falling over... I would suggest next year to pinch the new growth back at least two times. Once at about 6" Ht. then later in the season at 10". This will help keep the plants bushy and sturdy. You will also get more flowers on the plant in the fall. An additional bonus is thoses cuttings that you pinched off can be rooted during the summer to be shared with friends later in the fall when they are admiring your beautiful plants.
