there is a white fuzz, it looks like cotton, growing on top of the soil. How do I get rid of it and how do I avoid it. My plant is still nice and green, will it be ok??
Thank you

It is probably mold from keeping the soil too wet. Only water when the top inch or so of soil is dry. Add water until it drains out of the bottom of the pot. You can scrape off the top of the soil to remove the mold and replace it with fresh soil. The mold will not necessarily hurt the plant, but it is something you want to avoid.
