I have a aloe vera plant that was outside all summer and did very well. It got 5 times it size in just a few months, I never fertilized it, just watered it. Now it's inside and the leaves are yellow and mushy looking and the leaves are drooping. I cut the leaves off and now it really looks dead, any ideas? I live in North Carolina. Thanks...

Cut way back on the watering and check the roots for rot. The aloe is longer getting the wind and sun to help dry the soil out now that it's indoors. Most aloes grow from April-October, so water carefully with that in mind. The rest of the year, watering twice a month or even less than that should be enough.

I leave my Aloe Vera Plant out year round and water very little, never have any problem with it getting mushy. Do check the roots for rot.
