cutting of plants Options

i have a hanging plant in the office that i started 6 years ago
it has several pieces that are far too long and due to breakage
or cutting incorrectly have several growths off of growths i
would like to start over again but don't know the correct or
best way to cut back without harming or shocking my plant so
as to have a more uniform growing plant can you help me thanks in advance. MH

Many plants can be cut back to just above a pair of leaves.

Depending on the type of plant, you can cut them and root them either in water or directly in dirt without harming the plant.
