Hi, i wonder if anyone can help mp please. I have a beautiful house plant which is called a Aechmea Fasciata Primera, i have only had this plant a few months and i have lovingly taken care of it, watering it each week and it was doing fine up until about a week ago. It had produced beautiful pink and blue little heads inside the leaves and i was amazed by its beauty, i had noticed recently that although the leaves still looked very healthy the flower itself had started to look a little poorly as the colour had gone to a dirty grey like shade, not knowing too much about this plant i mentioned it to my dad and asked him to have a look at it for me.Today i have found out that i have been watering it far too much and that the stem of the flower in the centre had become rotten and it was standing in really smelly water.Tonight i have taken the stem out, wiped all the nasty off and turned the pot upside down to get rid of the excess water. Have i killed this plant or can i save it as i really like this plant? Can the roots grow again i dont know.
