How do I separate an aloe plant when it gets to big, then keep making them grow with out dying . I did once before and can not remember how.

When the soil is just a little bit on the moist side, take the whole root-ball out and cut it carefully with a shape sterile knife into sections, big or small. You want to have some soil and as much roots attached to each section as possible. Then pot up the sections into their own smaller pots. You may also want to take out just the smaller growth and pot them up.Use the same type well draining soil they came from and use small shallow pots.I would do this in the spring though.
