burrows tail Options

hello
i just trimmed off some long lengths of my burrows tail
do i need to root them in water for restart or will they be happy just placed in new soil..
the plant is at least 10 years old

Being you have a succulent, Burro's Tail/Donkey Tail (Sedum morganianum) you don't want to root them in water, instead, use a preferably small 2"-3" or so clay or plastic pot with well draining cactus soil.
Burrows tail will root will rather quickly, not sure if they will in colder months. The lengths of the stems should be about 6" to 7" long.Take some of the leaves off the bottom of the stems so you'll have enough bare stem to put down into the pot far enough so they won't fall out. Water once and don't water again until the soil has dried.
