I have an aloe vera plan who is been traumatized. There are not roots and part of the plant has died. I removed the dead portion and do not see any visible roots. What should I do to keep the plant alive. Should I submerge the bottom in Water or should I place the plant in soil

Rooting just a small portion of the bottom part (down just enough so it stands upright) in well draining soil, or soil taken out from the pot it came in, use a small pot, one that is not much larger than the bottom of the plant your trying to root. Rooting in water will rot the plant because it's a succulent.Give it bright indirect light for now and wait to see if there is indeed some hope for it.

My aloe plant has tons of little black bugs that can fly on the soil and near the base of the aloe plant. What can I do to get rid of these?!? At first I thought they were fruit flies but noticed them all over the soil of my aloe! HELP!

Thanks.
