I recently received a few dishgardens when my grandmother passed away. I know nothing about plants so I do not know the names of the plants making up the dishgardens. How do I care for the dishgardens to maintain longevity. Some of the leaves are already turning yellow and brown.

How often do I water?
Do I use plant food? Someone told me to not use plant food during the winter months.
How much light do they need?
Etc, Etc, Etc.

I would appreciate any information you could give.

Your dishgarden (most dishgardens I see are for med light plants) except cactus dishgardens. Yours would probably do ok in bright indirect light, like an east window, or off to the side of a sunny window but (no direct hot sun) Give them a quarter or half turn now and then for even growth.

Yellowing can mean over or under-watering, possibly growing in wrong light, either too much or too little light from what it was used to being in before.

Water when the soil is close to dry, or when the top couple inches feel dry with your finger. Pinch off any bad leaves since they won't turn green again.

You heard right, no feeding in the winter when many plants take a rest and stop growing. When you do fertilize, use half strength or less of what is recommended, either a few drops with each watering or feeding once every month or two is fine also.
