Ficus trees, I think you mean (ficus benjamina)can drop leaves from simply being moved to another light source, or, not getting enough water, too much water, or being re-potted are usually the main reasons for leaf drop. They get stressed and can shed many leaves, either almost all at once or over several months time.

As long as the roots didn't dry out or rot, find a spot near a window where the light is "bright indirect" and that will also get "some" direct sun during the day.You can rotate it once a week for even growth when or if it gets going again, just don't move it to another location.

Water the soil thoroughly until it comes out the bottom, then empty out any excess. You want slightly moist soil, not soaking wet or dried out, maybe a little less in winter.
Be careful not to over-water now since you don't have a many leaves.

Don't use any fertilizer in the winter months or on ANY plants that are not doing well, wait to feed (half strength) when you see lots of new healthy growth in the spring.

I'm sure you will need to do some pruning back later of any dead wood in the spring
