I recently purchaseda indoorhydrangea plant and it has bloomed....petals are brown and I would like your counsel in terms of pruning the dead petalsand stems as well as care going forward. I'm from New Jersey .I keep the house at 68 degrees and is on a table by a window that offers direct light during the day............Please advise........Lloyd

These indoor hydrangeas are not really houseplants. They are forced into bloom in Mid to late winter and sold with other houseplants. The do provide a vibrant splash of color in spring but you will not be able to grow it and rebloom it indoors.

What I would do would be: wait till April or last Frost and plant the hydrangea out side where it will recieve full to part sun and water it. It will continue to grow and probably reward you with blooms next year.
