Does sand have any affect to the growth of Golden pothos?

It doesn't affect the growth directly because the materials in the grains of sand - mostly silica - only dissolve in water to a very very slight extent (you might as well say not at all). What sand can do indirectly is to improe the drainage of a soil mix to which it is added. This will affect how much oxygen gets into the mix to keep the roots healthy while they are doing their job of allowing water and nutrients to get into the plant. Derekv
