I have a single stalk Corn Plant on which I'd like to create other stalks. Can I force other stalks to start? Most corn plants I see have multiple stalks. Thanks.

It is possible to get more shoots along the stem by cutting shallow notches, but the results are not very predictable.
The multi-stem plants that you see probably came from several canes. You can cut yours off and plant the cut-off piece (just push it into the soil and inch or so). The stub from which you cut the top will grow one of more shoots. Derek
