i want to know how to care for palms.

We have a few potted plants on the balcony of our flat which receives direct sun-shine for only two to four hours of the day - depending on the season. We would welcome information / guidance on the following aspects :
1. special care required by POTTED PALMS;
2. cause / prevention of yellowing / darkening of the tips of the
leaves of a POTTED HIBISCUS.
