Question:

Once the flowers on the amaryllis have died

(1) Should I cut the stalks off?

(2) Can you save the bulbs for re-use at a later time?

(3) Will they re-bloom from the same bulbs?
OR

(4) Should I throw them away?

(5) If not, how do I care for the bulbs so I can
replant next growing season?

(6) Can you plant them outside, or are they an indoor plant only?

just cut off the flower stalk - allow the large green leaves to grow, etc. when the weather is moderate - May in the N.E. you can put out the potted plant (leaves) I usually put in a slightly shaded spot -water along with your other plants. In Sept or so bring it in - the leaves should have withered by then, cut them off - take out of the pot and take off all earth sticking to the bulb - put in basement or any other cool dry place for couple of months. around Dec. repot with new potting soil - remember only half way up the bulb. I honestly, didn't have too much luck with my "second time around" bulbs but this year I was very radical with the fertilizer - I use Miracle Grow - and low and behold I am now getting blossoms - not as big and spectacular as the first but successfully.
It sounds like alot of work - but it isn't really - and when you are successful - it's a great feeling
good luck
