I Live in SW Florida. I have A ginger plant on the side of my house. It looks unhealthy. What Should I feed It? I trim all the brown and dead leaves of of it . Does this have to be done more often? Because when I do It Looks wonderful, but again it doesn't look healthy. Can you give me some better idea of how to care for this plant?

Diane, without seeing the plant, or knowing which ginger ...! My guess is that it is either in too much shade or too much sun. If it is in full blazing sun after about noon, it will need a lot of water to keep the leave green and healthy - but strong light like this is better than shade as long as you can supply the water. If too much shade is the problem you will have reduced growth and may also see the leaf browning, although this is more likely in the full sun situation.
One other possibility - are you somehwere like cape Coral or Pine island where thater is a lot of salt in the water" That will cause the browning, and all you can do in that sitution is to move the plant to shade - give very little water from the sprinlers and wait for the summer rains when it should suddenly perk up.
Sorry I can't give you a simple straight answer, but I hope that you get the picture. Derek
