I CUT MY PONTINELLA PLANTS DOWN TO THE GROUND IN THE FALL. I DON'T SEE ANY NEW GROWTH. DID I KILL THEM?

Dear Terry, I don't know a thing about your plant but I'm interested. I do have a question for you though. If you were to dig into the soil where the Potenilla are, can you find any small tuberous bulbs growing? About the size of the tip of a finger? I have a neat story that involves the people in Tibet. I've heared that they dig under these plants to harvest these tubers. They're then rinsed carefully..picking out the rocks etc..soaked , then cooked & added to rice. I've tasted them recently...& they are good. I've been trying to track them & even emailed a fellow liveing in Tibet for more info. They are highly prized & eaten at their new year ceabration. He also told me to check out silverweed, cinquefoil & potenilla anseriana. Sorry for the long email...I am so determined to get to the bottom of this mystery snack! Thanks Alot, Karen
