i have a bamboo plant, have no idea what species it is! but i have a couple ?s about taking care of it!! it is in a little bamboo shaped pot thing. it is on my kitchen table. some of the leaves are started to get very light colored and some look like they are dieing at the tips of the leaves, although it is not every leaf. i keep the container filled with water, and i have some green liquid that i drop in it, i don't know what it is but the person who gave it to me said that it is for bamboo, it had chinese on the bottle (that's why i don't know what it is)!

should i cut off the leaves that look bad on the tips? should i keep trimming it down to stay the size of my container? or do i need to re-pot? and if i do re-pot, should i use soil or rocks? right now it's in rocks!
i do not have a good history with plants! but i do like it and want it to not just survive but to also thrive!!
need help!
thanks!
