Hi, I'm a college senior living in a dorm. I have two plants, a spider plant and a cactus, both purchased with the idea in mind that they would be easy to care for. Today there was someone in my campus center selling orchids (I'm not sure what species). I really loved the pink ones, but I'm not sure if I should get one. He says they're really easy to care for, but I'd always thought they were hard. I don't want to get one if it's just going to die in a week. What are my chances of keeping an orchid alive?
