I have heard of people planting mint amongst their vegetable gardens, in order to keep bugs away. From what I've been told, the scent of the mint deters them.
However, I've been told to never plant mint, unless you want it for the rest of your life, because it is impossible to get rid of.
So my question is, Does mint really do a good job of keeping bugs away, and if so, is it worth planting, or will it overtake the garden?
Thanks!

Mike- It's not mint that is the natural pesticide, it's Garlic and onion.
One chase off SpiderMites and the other Aphids. I haven't found which does what so I plant both.
