i was given a very pretty plant(at least i think it is a plant) from a friend. i found out she got it at the local krogers. it looks alot like bamboo but is shapable if given time. the one i have has the stalks in a circle and a center stalk curled in a circle pattern. the stalks are bare up to the top then have a shoot that has thin leaves that are slightly long and mildly pointy. this was a gift for my birthday and i'd like to find out how to care for it but as my sign in name says i'm totally lost. any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried looking at care sheets for bamboo? It really does sound (to me) like that's what it is. Although to be sure you could always go to krogers to see if they have any with a tag saying the name and go from there.
