Recently, I noticed that there were a few centipedes in my majesty palm's pot. I thought this was fine, until the next day when I watered it I noticed a bnch of fruit flies in the soil.
To get rid of these, I was thinking of either changing the soil completely, or just watering the palm with dish soap in it's water.
Do you think any of these solutions may work?
Also, why would the bugs be in my majesty palm?

Well, I pured some soapy water in it, but it didn't do much.
When I checked on the plant again, an earthworm jumped out at me, lol.
Each time I check the pot, there seems to be atleast one more species of bug. I also noticed some little white mite-like insects near the base of the tree. I guess I will have to change the soil in the pot, or try again with some soap water.
