I've attached a picture of my unknown plant as my avatar because I couldn't figure out how else to include the pic!! Hope it's large enough to use for identification. Please, someone help me figure out what it is. I received it (by mistake, I'm sure) when I ordered some daylily bulbs through the mail last year.

It was unknowingly planted with the daylilies and survived last winter temps of ~15 degrees and the single flower has been blooming now for 3 weeks. We've had temps in mid 80s (we live in middle Georgia), the soil is clay/loam, and it's planted in full sun. The flower on the very top of the plant is lavendar and has yellow "buds" up and down the stalk. There are two additional stalks coming up at ground level. The flower has no smell.

I joined this forum specifically to get help identifying this flower so I hope someone responds.

If you could post a picture, that would be helpful. From your avatar shot, you may have some sort of bromeliad, but it's hard to tell from the small shot.

I'll try again to provide a larger picture. My first thought, too, was bromeliad, but most of the bromeliads I've seen are very thick and "stiff" feeling, whereas this plant is very thin and soft. Thanks for responding and please get back with me if I'm able to provide a larger picture.
