Hi,
i live in a college dorm and went home for winter break. i left my jade plant at school because i heard that they do not like to be moved around a lot. when i came back a month later my room was really hot and my precious jade plant shriveled in the heat. im really really sad about it and was wondering if there is anything i can do?
so far ive pruned it taking off its shriveled leaves and have been watering it when it get dry... which is often. its only about a year old and i dont know if i should just give up and buy a new one or try to revive the one i have now.
if anyone is out there that can help... please help!

Seems like you're doing the right things with pruning and watering whenever it's dry but maybe the room gets too hot in general.

Jade plants need to be kept at appropriate temperatures. So, ideally, the room should be around 65 to 75 degrees, i would say. Jade also enjoys intense light and some sunlight, but can tolerate bright conditions. Keep your plant in a cool place for the winter, as cold as 55 degrees is okay. Water your Jade well in spring/summer/fall, but let it dry out between waterings. There really isn't a magic cure-all for plants, so do your best to maintain good health.

F.Y.I. You can propagate your own baby Jades by breaking off individual leaves and placing them on soil. They needn't be buried, just water and they will sprout roots. They can even grow after falling off the plant.

I hope this is helpful.

oh your poor jade. I have a jade & I love it very much, but to tell you the truth, it never seems to be doing very well. It doesn't die, but it doesn't flourish either. Actually, it started to die, so I transplanted the savable portion, and it seems to be just hanging on.
good luck with your jade ... Willamena

I can't help but wonder if the poor jade or any of it's cuttings survived???

I hope he did :)
