(I love this site!) I bought 3 sick looking African Violets from a discount store. I thought I could nurse them back to health, but they haven't changed since I bought them 4 mos. ago - I wish they'd do something, anything.... When I bought them the leaves were dark green, blossoms had been dead for some time. I put them in a bright room & repotted them but I don't think they like me. How would I know if they were dead? Thanks for reading this. (My grandmother had huge Afr. Violets in every color all over her house. Said they were the easiest plant to grow...I guess I didn't get the "Gardener" Gene.)

With African violets, make sure that you get abosutely no water on the leaves. The easiest way to do is have a get a suacer under it an put the water in the saucer and allow the water to soak up into the plant from the bottom holes. As for blooming, there are some special fertilizers designed for African Violets that really help with making you plant healthy and promote the blooming process.

I certainly appreciate your advice, JustMe, I haven't been watering them properly & will look for the fertilizer.
