Oh, I love Gerbera Daisy's. They need almost full sun to produce flowers. Water when needed. When the flower dies snip it off to promote new growth. Thats it!!!

I have a potted Gerbera daisy, it had flowers when I bought it, those have since died. There have been no flowers since. It is very leafy, and green, has full sunlight all day. What am I doing wrong?

My husband just brought me home two Gerbera daisys. I too know little about them. They are pretty with flowers, but will I be able to transplant them outside? or keep them in pots as houseplants?

Hi Guys,
With Gerberas you need to remember that they have HIGH energy requirements. This means that they need HIGH energy fertiliser (high potassium requirements). If you want your plants to remain looking as vibrant as they were when you bought them from plant nursery - you will need to apply HIGH energy fertiliser once or twice a week.
Just apply fertiliser with waterings. Don't overwater plant as this can lead to crown rot and/ or wilted flowers.
Good luck with your lovely gerbera plants,

PS You can definitly plant your Gerberas outside Joy(or keep them as houseplants if you wish), plant them in free draining soil, keep the crown base of plant above the soil level and semi clear of mulching, mulch around plant well and fertilise in the growing season as above - Good Luck.
