Hi! I just joined this website because my spider plant's leaves are turning yellow mid way and brown at the ends. Please help, I've never had any luck with these plants, but this one is beautiful and I got it from my grandchildren for my birthday. I can't kill a pothos, but the spider always gets past me. Please help!

The problem with your Spider plants is you are overwatering it. When you water it, only water it lightly and allow to dry completely between waterings. If you do that you shoul have a nice healthy plant.

It does sound like you might be over watering. How big is your plant and how much are you watering it? My spider plants seem to thrive on neglect, but don't do so well with constantly wet soil.

I too was having a problem with leaf tips turning brown. I thought the dry air in the house was the problem. Tried daily misting but that didn't help. I repotted the root bound plant in a pot one size larger and bought a mini green house at Lowes. I can't believe how much better the spidey looks - and no more brown leaf tips. I put most of my smaller houseplants in the green house - looks very nice in the bird room.
