so my girlfriend bought an english lavender plant awhile back, and it's always had troubles, and i'm wondering if anything can be done for it or if it's too late.
the parts of the lavender that should be lavender are gray, always have been. from what i've read, it seems like the problem is probably that the soil isn't properly aerated. almost all of the leaves are still the typical greenish color.
so...is it too late to save the plant or is there still hope? also, i read that adding the lavender to a more sandy soil could help, but what about adding a layer of woodchips into the soil? and the best watering tips i've found are "don't water unless it's drought-like conditions," but is there anything more specific? should we wait to water until the soil starts to cake? any help is again appreciated!
